Artesa 2000
Reserve Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley, California
This Reserve Sauvignon Blanc displays
abundant varietal fruit aromas of citrus blossoms,
honeydew melon, fig, grapefruit and ripe pear. On
the mouth, the wine is round and rich yet nicely structured,
with a wealth of sweet lemon-lime flavors mingling
with tropical fruit and just a hint of well-integrated
oak spice.
Brilliant lime color, with an herbal and grassy nose;
spicy, pepper and green fig flavors; crisp and clean
on the finish. A perfect accompaniment to the catch
of the day; excellent with smoked oysters or clams.Alcohol:

Beringer 2000 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley,
California
The evolution of our Sauvignon Blanc over the
last decade demonstrates how important it is to
adapt both viticulture and winemaking to the individual
varietal. We used to grow Sauvignon Blanc in the
same cool areas where we grow Chardonnay, but the
resulting wine was too grassy for my taste. We shifted
our vineyards further north into warmer microclimates
of the Napa Valley and adjusted the trellising in
a way that allowed aromas and flavors of stone fruit
--- especially apricots --- citrus, quince and even
lemongrass to come through clearly. Then, I showcased
this fruit and layered the flavors by using two
different fermentation techniques. Oak aging added
a note of spicy clove and vanilla, and Im very pleased
with the results.
Ch. Souverain 2000 Alexander Valley Sauvignon
Blanc
Sonoma Valley, California
The nose of this
Sauvignon Blanc displays grapefruit zest with
a hint of sage-like herb and floral aromas. The
flavors are an extension of the aromatic nose
and part of a crisp, fresh, lively impression
that is enhanced by just a touch of vanilla and
toast from the barrel fermentation and sur lie
aging.
Ch. St. Jean 2001 Fume Blanc Sonoma Valley, California
Aromas of ripe peach, lemongrass, melon and spice
describe the nose of this Fum Blanc. On the palate,
grapefruit, melon, vanilla and hints of fig are
well integrated with smoky oak flavors. The grapes
for this blend were specially selected from vineyards
in the Alexander Valley and Russian River Valley
appellations to achieve a blend with a balance
of fruit and herbal components. The Alexander
Valley fruit imparts ripe melon and fig flavors,
while the Russian River Valley grapes lend lemongrass
and dried herb notes.
