A. Mano 2001
Puglia Primitivo Southern Italy, Italy
"Think of this wine as old vine Zinfandel at
an amazingly good price! Hand-crafted from indigenous
Primitivo grapes (the original source for Zinfandel
by the way...) it burst with dark, spicy ripe fruit.
Another great value from Southern Italy!
Called A.Mano (“hand-made”), this fruit-packed,
food-friendly red expresses the region’s quality
potential, and the reasons for Mark’s Apulian
connection.
What you get can only be characterful duo of Primitivo
Puglia IGT reds with fruit you can chew on, supple
body, fresh acidity: “just the kind of wine
the consumer wants to drink, and drink again.”.

2001 Sin Zin Zinfandel Sonoma Valley, California
A little naughty, zesty and full-bodied, Sin Zin
is a mouthful of pure fruit flavors underscored
with black pepper and briar notes. Enjoy Sin Zin
alongside grilled meats, hearty stews, and good
friends.
Beaulieu -
BV 2000 Signet Collection Zinfandel Napa Valley, California
Dense black-ruby color, nearly opaque. The first inviting
scent reveals rich mocha-coffee and vanilla, followed
immediately by strong blackberry and black pepper
fruit aromas mingled with hints of jam and anise.
Full-bodied, powerful fruit flavors and firm tannins
suggest this wine could use 3-5 years in bottle to
round out. The rich fruit almost completely envelops
the sweet vanilla of the oak, giving the finish a
creamy textural finish, stiffened just slightly by
some perceptible alcohol and firming acid. Dense,
concentrated and balanced, this is a wine to serve
with strong cheeses and barbecued beef now, given
its huge intensity of flavors.
With an attractive deep purple color, the wine offers
rich aromas of berry and vanilla. In the mouth, flavors
of strawberry, raspberry and cassis are complemented
by spicy pepper and chocolate. Full-bodied and velvety
on the palate, this Zinfandel exhibits fine balance
and mild tannins with a long finish.
Ch. Souverain
2000 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Sonoma Valley, California
Bursting with jammy boysenberry and black cherry notes,
this Zinfandel is enhanced by a rich, round mouthfeel,
which exemplifies the classic Dry Creek "fruit-driven"
style of this wine. Modest acidity and soft tannins
deliver a balanced, medium bodied wine, touched with
back notes of French oak to add complexity and richness
throughout the long juicy finish.
